Driver Safety

The driver safety course is conducted in conjunction with DriverSafety.com.au, a leading Australian road safety organisation. Drivers learn how to improve their physical and mental performance in a motor vehicle, and how to control motivations that cause inappropriate driving behaviours.

We focus on issues such as vehicle handling, driving technique and vehicle control in emergency situations, but we also teach these skills in the context of what's happening inside the body and mind, such as:

Steering techniques Concentration
Braking techniques Reaction time
Road knowledge Emotional control
Science of vehicle handling Decision making
Peripheral vision Perceptual skills

The course is designed so that driving skill improvements can translate to any other situation where the person is required to operate a moving vehicle, such as buses, trucks, graders and diggers. Time is spent in-vehicle at a suitable track venue or on public roads, and undertaking some driving simulator and classroom activities to educate on mental and technical driving skills.

This intensive and challenging course is a 3 x 8 hour format that is conducted at the nearest suitable venue, or on the Gold Coast, Queensland Australia, with the option to split the days over a period of time. A maximum of 20 participants per course.
