Fatigue Management

Fatigue is one of the major causes of under performance and risk related behaviours in the workplace, driving and sport. It contributes to fatalities and serious injuries in numerous industries and activities, and is one of the most underestimated causes of lowered productivity and poor health and well-being.

This course aims to give participants a better understanding of the complexity of fatigue, the physical, psychological, behavioural and emotional aspects of fatigue, and how fatigue directly contributes to performance problems and poorer outcomes. The content includes information about:

Types of fatigue Diet
Mood Fitness
Sleep Drugs & Alcohol
Stress Health

Along with a broader knowledge of fatigue, participants are provided with a range of strategies to assist them with finding ways to eliminate or minimise any potential fatigue threats that they may be experiencing. This knowledge can then be used to reduce the risks associated with their workplace tasks, driving skills or sport performance.

The course is a 1 x 8 hour day format, or it can be split into 2 x 4 hour sessions. There is no maximum number of participants for this course, although smaller groups are recommended. This course can be combined with the Performance Fitness course to ensure all areas of fitness for work are covered.
